Regional luxury lifestyle publisher athome in Fairfield County magazine celebrates the best in home design with its annual competition, the A-List Awards. This year, VanderHorn Architects is pleased to be the recipient of four awards!
#1: Seaside Shingle
The big winner of the A-List event was our Seaside Shingle home in the category of Traditional Architecture Greater Than 7,000 Square Feet. This project is a welcoming double-gable shingle style home, which glamorously swings into a private dockside paradise above the harbor.

#2: Hilltop English Country
In the category of Kitchen Design: Trad/Classic, our Hilltop English Country project took home the prize. The waterfront English cottage style residence features a beautiful custom kitchen that combines both rustic and refined finishes, including the metal range hood and painted cabinetry with stained character-grade hardwood floors, natural wood island, and beamwork. A natural stained hutch featuring a bar sink and integrated refrigerator & freezer is fashioned like a piece of custom-built furniture against the painted white cabinetry.

#3: Classic Georgian Revived
Our recently completed Classic Georgian Revived project won an award in the category of Bath Design: Trad/Classic. This Greenwich, CT home renovation includes an updated backyard entertaining space, mudroom, and new His and Her master bathroom and closet. The style is traditional but fresh to suit our clients’ classic Georgian brick home.

#4: Sun-filled Renovation
DVHA was also honored with an A-List award in category of Office/Library for our Sun-filled Renovation. This recently completed renovation includes an office transformation that inspires productivity. The space has come a long way from its previous life as an irregular room created by the space between a pair of pedimented dormers. By building out the roof, our addition is now a generous and light-filled office space.
