Our firm is pleased to share that we’ve been awarded a 2023 A-List Award from athome magazine in the category of Kid/Teen Bedroom. The A-List Awards celebrate excellence in residential and commercial design.
VHA took home the award for Kid/Teen Bedroom for its Rye Colonial project. Designed in collaboration with interior designer Stephanie Woodmansee of Henry & Co Design, the bedroom features a custom built-in twin-size loft bed that takes advantage of the high ceiling while creating cozy, fun, child-scaled spaces.
Built-in bookcases integrate nicely with the loft bed, providing convenient storage above and below. The bookcase cabinets fit around the stepping masonry of the chimney behind the wall, making clever use of all available space.
The room’s décor, including the wallpaper and lower tent bed, is perfect for a growing explorer. When the child grows up, the loft ladder and alcove are positioned and sized for a queen bed below.
