What’s New in 2025!

Happy 2025 to all! As VanderHorn Architects embarks on what promises to be another busy year, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on the projects completed in 2024. Among these are several notable works that have generated significant interest, including our Coastal Gambrel Shingle, Westchester Manor, and Mid-Country Colonial Revival projects.

One of the most interesting parts of our Westchester Manor is its complex roof, which features a blend of thick slates and a graduated exposure.

Each of these homes has turned out beautifully, and we look forward to showcasing the completed projects as the year unfolds.

Our current projects breaking ground are benefiting from a stabilized labor and material market. Along the New England coast, construction has just begun on our Coastal Bluff Shingle. Further south, our first project on the Jersey Shore in recent years is set to break ground in the coming months. Additionally, we have several exciting projects in Greenwich, both under construction and in the design phase, that will debut later this year.

Our Coastal Gambrel Shingle project sits pretty just a stone’s throw from the water.

In addition to these remarkable projects, we are also working on several intriguing ones. We’ve recently begun our Metro Pied-à-Terre project, a loft conversion in a historic brick and terra-cotta “mixed-use” building near Yale University. This project presents a variety of unique challenges that will allow us to push our creativity and expertise while further enhancing our capabilities.

Close by, at our Greenwich Carriage House project, we’re excited to transform an old carriage house into living quarters, a process that always results in a unique and captivating finished product. Additionally, we recently completed a study for a Mediterranean-style design—an opportunity that the local market allows us to explore every few years. The study turned out so well that we’ll be having it rendered and uploaded to our website very soon. Perhaps it’s the winter weather inspiring us, but we’d certainly welcome the chance to take on a project or two in a sunnier climate!
